What is Profhilo used for?

Profhilo is used to improve skin hydration, firmness and elasticity. Unlike traditional Dermal Fillers, it does not add volume. Instead, it spreads evenly under the skin to attract water and stimulate collagen, leaving skin smoother, healthier and naturally refreshed.

How Does Profhilo® Work?

Profhilo is injected in small amounts just beneath the skin. Over about 28 days it slowly releases hyaluronic acid, which stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. This process helps tighten the skin, improve elasticity and create a gentle lifting effect.

Who is Profhilo suitable for?

Profhilo is suitable for adults noticing early or established signs of ageing, such as fine lines, dryness or skin laxity. It can also be used as a preventative treatment in younger patients to maintain skin quality. Your consultation will confirm if it is right for you.

Which areas can be treated with Profhilo?

Profhilo is most often used on the face, but it is also effective for the neck, décolletage, hands and inner arms. It can be combined with other treatments such as anti-wrinkle treatment for enhanced results.

What does the Profhilo treatment involve?

A standard course involves two sessions, one month apart. At each session, 2ml of Profhilo is injected using fine needles in specific points of the face or neck. This technique allows the product to spread evenly for a smooth, natural result.

Is Profhilo painful?

Most patients describe only mild discomfort. Profhilo is injected with very fine needles, and any stinging or tenderness is short lived. Treatments are quick, and most people return to normal activities immediately afterwards.

How long do Profhilo results last?

Many patients notice fresher, more hydrated skin within weeks of treatment. Results such as improved elasticity and firmness usually last 6 to 12 months. Maintenance treatments once or twice a year help keep results consistent.

Aftercare

You will be able to carry on with your normal activities following treatment. It is not advised to do any heavy exercise and avoid UV exposure for 24 hours. We also advise trying to refrain from applying make-up following the procedure on the day of treatment.

I have been twice now to Anna Medical and it is so welcoming, private and professional and for the first time in years feel I have found the best place for all my treatments, and believe me I tried a few! A lot of thought is given to the individual and what they need rather than a haphazard, approach. I visited last week for my first ever treatments and yes I was nervous but as soon as you walk into the reception the staff make you feel really welcome. My first treatment was with Gemma who made me feel really relaxed and felt like chatting with a friend and no pain yahhhhh. The best! From my initial consultation to my follow up, Anna is a true professional and expert in her field. Anna is not pushy, but will advise on what is the best treatment for you (and what isn’t!) I had Botox and lip injections and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Her attention to detail is incredible and I honestly found the whole process relaxing knowing I was in Anna’s hands. It's taken me a long time to write this review as what happened really affected me. I have never had any kind of treatment so it took a lot for me to decide to have botox on my neck and lower jaw last May, I was so nervous. Unfortunately it went wrong and I ended up with a lop sided smile which took months to correct. I looked like a freak, my friends said it looked like I had had a stroke! Mentally this really affected me, I went back and saw Anna who just offered me more botox, when I asked for my money back, as the fact I had paid to look like this just added insult to injury. She refused and offered me a facial instead, which I did have but I really wanted a refund. I recently went to see another therapist who knew Anna, I told her what had happened and she was suprised, but she did say that she has seen Anna do this procedure, as she had done some training with her, and she always thought Anna went too high into the muscle around the jaw area. So ladies be careful.....I know things can go wrong but chances are they will with this particular treatment.

I can’t recommend Anna and her staff enough. Very professional, friendly and caring. Saba is absolutely amazing, her knowledge, experience and she made me feel at ease and her personality is absolutely amazing. Having never undergone any facial treatments before, I was nervous & apprehensive about the whole thing but Anna & her team were an absolute joy & were totally amazing. The ladies at the front were warm & welcoming & very professional. And Anna - well, what can I say 😀 Anna was great. She was incredibly patient & took the time to explain everything to me. She answered all my questions just as patiently & in a way that was easy for a non-clinical person like me to understand. There was NO pressure from Anna to commit to anything then & there. In fact, she told me to go away & think about it - but after my consult I felt super confident with Anna & her team, & I booked my session before leaving - and my only regret is that I didn't discover Anna sooner! I highly recommend Anna without hesitation. For years, I’ve sought a Botox brow lift to elevate my eyebrows and have consulted various providers, including a nurse, GP, and plastic surgeon, none of whom achieved any significant lasting results.
