What is Liquid Facelift?
The non-surgical facelift (also known as liquid) is a non-surgical approach that offers similar results to a surgical facelift. The treatment involves a filler being injected into appropriate areas of the face to help lift, reposition, plump and rejuvenate the skin. Dermal fillers made from Hyaluronic acid can be used for this treatment or alternatively, Ellanse may be used. Ellanse will offer the additional collagen-stimulating benefit as well as offer a longer-lasting result. For best results from a liquid facelift, anti-ageing injections are generally also recommended within the treatment plan.
How Does The Non-Surgical Treatment Work?
Every patient is different and beautifully unique, therefore an individual and bespoke treatment plan will be created. Dermal fillers or Ellanse will be injected into appropriate areas to lift, fill specific lines and in the case of Ellanse, stimulate collagen. A combination of deep injections to volumise and more superficial injections to stimulate collagen and plump fine lines will be used. A full face approach is always taken with a liquid facelift procedure.
Who Is The Treatment For?
The treatment is suitable for anyone that is concerned with signs of ageing. It’s not just gravity that takes its toll on us and causes facial sagging, environmental factors like sun damage have a part to play also. What Areas Can Be Treated?
Generally, a full approach is taken for the non-surgical facelift procedure, and the below areas are nearly always treated. Anti-ageing injections can also be used in the forehead and around the eye area to soften the appearance of lines. Areas that can be treated are as follows: – Cheek Fillers – Nose to Mouth Lines – Marionette Lines – Jawline Enhancement
What Does The Treatment Involve?
During the consultation, you will be advised approximately how much filler would need to ensure the best possible result for you. You will also discuss the benefits of different products and which might be most suitable for you and your area of concern (Ellanse or dermal filler). A local anaesthetic cream can be applied prior to treatment which can reduce discomfort during treatment. Treatment times will vary but are generally around 90 minutes. In some cases, it can take more than one session to ensure the best possible result and allow for any ‘tweaks’.
How Long Do the Result From the Treatment Last?
How long the filler will last will vary depending on the product that is used and the area that is treated. Longevity for dermal filler will generally be around 12-18 months whereas Ellanse can offer a longer-lasting result up to 3 years. Before and After
Aftercare
It is not advised to do any heavy exercise and avoid UV exposure for 24 hours. We also advise trying to refrain from applying make-up following the procedure on the day of treatment. A full list of aftercare will be discussed on the day of treatment.
Face Lift Side effects
It is completely normal to have redness and swelling post-procedure (swelling is very common after lip enhancement procedures). The swelling will generally subside after about 48 hours but can often take longer in many cases.
Despite efforts being made to avoid bruising, it can occur. If it does, it can take a week or two to disappear. Make-up can be applied to conceal it if needed, but ideally not on the day of treatment to avoid the risk of infection. Arnica gel/cream can also be worth applying to the area to help reduce the appearance of bruising.
