We look at your facial structure, proportions, movement, skin quality and areas of lost support or volume. We also discuss your health, previous treatments and the improvement you hope to see. Together, these help us decide whether filler is appropriate and where it could make a worthwhile difference.
Sometimes carefully placed filler is enough. Sometimes skin treatment, collagen stimulation or a combination will better address what you have noticed. We will explain our recommendation, including when we advise against filler.
We plan around your face and the result you want
We do not price our treatments by the millilitre. You do not need to choose a syringe size or decide how much filler to buy. We assess what is appropriate, agree a treatment plan with you and explain the treatment price before you go ahead.
Avoiding an overfilled appearance means understanding where volume is needed, where it is already present and when a different approach would help more. We consider the balance of your whole face, including any existing filler.
Where appropriate, we can build your treatment in stages and review how things settle. The aim is an improvement that feels right for you, with a clear reason for each recommendation.

Dermal fillers are injectable gels used to restore volume, soften some facial folds and improve shape or proportion. Many contain hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in the body. The product, amount and placement depend on your anatomy and the change you would like to achieve.

Volume, shape and support
Hyaluronic acid fillers can restore selected areas of volume and improve proportions. Ellansé is a collagen-stimulating filler that may be considered for suitable patients.
Ellansé has different properties and cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Product choice is part of your assessment.
Skin quality and hydration
Where skin quality is the main concern, we can discuss Profhilo and our wider skin treatment options. These address different needs from adding facial volume.
Firmness and wider rejuvenation

We listen and assess
We discuss what you have noticed, your health, previous treatments and expectations. Your clinician assesses facial structure, skin, movement and proportions to understand what would help.
We explain your options
You receive a personal recommendation with a clear treatment price. We explain the expected benefits, risks and recovery, including alternatives and whether a staged approach is appropriate. You can take time to decide.
We plan your treatment and aftercare
If you choose to proceed, we select the product and technique for your needs. You receive aftercare advice, signs to look out for and details of how to get help if you have concerns.
Experience includes being prepared for complications
Choosing your clinician also means choosing who will look after you if something does not go as expected. We discuss risks before treatment and explain what to do if you need help afterwards.
We keep hyaluronidase on-site and have a protocol for managing vascular occlusion, a complication in which filler blocks a blood vessel and affects the blood supply. Hyaluronidase can dissolve hyaluronic acid filler and is used when clinically indicated.

Hyaluronidase does not dissolve Ellansé. We explain product-specific risks and the management options relevant to your treatment.
What should you know about recovery?
Swelling, tenderness and bruising can occur, so leave time for recovery before important occasions. Other complications can include infection, lumps, delayed inflammation and asymmetry. Rare vascular complications can cause tissue damage and, in exceptional cases, vision loss or stroke.

Getting help after treatment
Contact the clinic urgently if you develop unusual or worsening pain, or pale, dusky or mottled skin. Suspected vascular occlusion needs prompt assessment. If you cannot reach us, seek urgent medical help.

Will my results look natural?
Our aim is for you to look fresher while your features remain in balance. We plan around your anatomy, proportions and the changes you want to make. How do you decide whether fillers are right for me?
We start with what you would like to improve, then assess your facial structure, volume, skin quality, movement and proportions. We also consider your medical history, medicines, previous treatments and expectations. This helps us decide whether filler is likely to help and where it would be appropriate. If another treatment would suit you better, or treatment would not be advisable, we will explain why.
How do you avoid an overfilled appearance?
We assess your whole face, including existing volume and any previous filler, before planning treatment. The aim is to restore balance without adding unnecessary fullness. We consider where support is needed and whether skin quality or laxity would be better addressed in another way. Where appropriate, treatment can be staged so we can review how it settles before recommending anything further.
Do I need to choose how many millilitres of filler to have?
No. We do not price our treatments by the millilitre, and you do not need to choose a quantity before your consultation. We assess your face, discuss the improvement you want and recommend an appropriate treatment plan with a clear treatment price. The amount of product is a clinical decision within that plan, rather than the starting point for choosing your treatment.
What if another treatment would suit me better than filler?
We offer several approaches to facial rejuvenation, including hyaluronic acid fillers, Profhilo, Ellansé, skin treatments and Sofwave. Each addresses different concerns and has its own suitability considerations. Your clinician will explain which approach, or combination, best fits your assessment. Ellansé is a collagen-stimulating filler and cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase.
What happens if I experience a complication?
We give you aftercare guidance and explain how to contact us. We keep hyaluronidase on-site and have a vascular-occlusion management protocol. Hyaluronidase can dissolve hyaluronic acid filler when clinically indicated; it does not dissolve Ellansé. Unusual or worsening pain, or pale, dusky or mottled skin, needs urgent assessment. Contact us immediately; if you cannot reach us, seek urgent medical help. Sudden vision changes or stroke-like symptoms require an immediate call to 999.
How much do dermal fillers cost at Anna Medical Aesthetics?
At our Swindon clinic, dermal filler treatment is planned around your face and the result you want, rather than by the millilitre. Prices start from £275 with a nurse practitioner and £350 with Anna. How long do dermal fillers last?
How long the result lasts depends on the product, area treated and your individual response. Hyaluronic acid filler results often last around 6–18 months, although some filler can remain longer. We assess the area and any remaining filler before recommending further treatment. Your clinician will explain the likely timescale for your plan and when a review would be useful.
Will treatment hurt, and how much downtime should I allow?
Filler is placed with a needle or cannula, and you may feel a sting, pressure or tenderness. Many hyaluronic acid fillers contain local anaesthetic, and numbing cream may be appropriate. Swelling and bruising can occur; bruising may take one to two weeks to fade. Allow time before an important event and follow the aftercare advice given for your treatment.
What happens at my first consultation?
Your clinician listens to your concerns, reviews your health and previous treatments, and assesses your face. You discuss suitable options, expected benefits, risks, recovery and treatment prices. You can ask questions and take time to decide, with no obligation to have treatment. Can I have a consultation if I already have filler?
Yes. Please tell us when and where you were treated and bring any product details you have. We assess the existing filler and your current concerns before recommending the next step. That may involve leaving it alone, discussing correction or considering another treatment. Adding more filler is not always the appropriate option.
Can fillers help sagging skin or jowls?
Filler may help when lost volume or support contributes to changes in your lower face. It does not remove excess skin or reproduce a surgical facelift. We assess the cause of the concern and can discuss skin tightening, other treatment options or surgical advice where appropriate. Can I have fillers while pregnant or breastfeeding?
We do not offer elective dermal filler treatment during pregnancy or breastfeeding because safety information is insufficient. Please let us know when you enquire so we can help you plan a future consultation.
