Hooded Eyes

Hooded Eye

Hooded eyes (also known as hooded eyelids) are a common facial characteristic where excess skin folds down from the brow bone towards the lash line.

This condition, occurring in one or both eyes, can cause them to appear smaller due to the excess skin that hangs over the eye.

As we age, the skin, particularly around the thin-skinned eye area, begins to lose elasticity, leading to sagging. This sagging skin can cover part or all of the eyelid, emphasising the eyes’ smaller appearance. Over time, this condition tends to become more noticeable, adding to the unique features of an individual’s face

What Causes Hooded Eyes?

Age – As we age, our skin naturally loses collagen and elastin, the components responsible for its firmness and elasticity, leading to the appearance of sagging skin.

Genetics – Some people are genetically predisposed to skin sagging due to their family history and ethnic background.

Sun Exposure – Over time, UV radiation from the sun can break down collagen and elastin fibres, leading to premature skin sagging.

Lifestyle factors – Things like smoking, poor diet, and rapid weight loss can also contribute to skin sagging.

How To Get Rid Of Hooded Eyes Without Surgery?

Surgical skin tightening methods like facelifts can treat sagging skin. However, non-surgical alternatives like Sofwave are gaining popularity for their convenience and non-invasive nature. For those seeking a non-invasive option to skin tightening, Sofwave is an excellent choice. Sofwave utilises next-generation ultrasound energy to penetrate the skin layers without causing damage to the surface, targeting the mid-dermal tissue to stimulate collagen and elastin production. At our clinic, we are proud to offer Sofwave non-surgical treatment for hooded eyes. Our FDA-cleared treatment, Sofwave, uses next-generation ultrasound energy to penetrate the skin, tightening it from within without damaging the outer layers of the skin. This allows you to return to your daily routine right away.

Went to Anna to get my skin ready for my wedding. I have had wonderful hydro facials, skin pen with Erica who has helped reduce pigmentation from scaring on my skin. My skin feels so smooth and looks amazing without make up. I also had a tear trough treatment with Anna. She promised me I wouldn't feel any to very little pain, and she was right. It was comfortable, and the end result looks natural. Everyone at Anna Medical Aesthetics are understanding, approachable and honest. I feel these are such great qualities to have that I will be returning for more facials and any future treatments. Thank you ladies
